I would lay in bed awake hoping my son was in the house.
All was quiet on this floor at least. Who knew about the other three floors.
Being with the cousins was like being at camp for oldest son.
I generally saw him at meal times (unless we were going somewhere fun).

With the mindset one can sleep back home we were treated to a fun day in three different countries. We could literally run around a pole and say we had been in the Netherlands, Belgium & Germany.

So it was with our heads held high that oldest son and I left a little over two weeks ago.
We were dropped off at the airport and held tickets that said our destination was London, then Amsterdam, than London again.
We jumped into line and sent our luggage straight through and picked up our boarding passes.

There is NO place like home. In my book that translates to feather pillows, personal showers that don’t involve squatting, familiar foods, normalness, and air conditioning. Man-made air conditioning.
