the venture adventure

What is a mom to do with two kids who try out for a gifted & talented kid and the one who wants it most don’t make it; and the one who doesn’t mind either way makes it?
Nothing apparently.
I put way too much thought into how I would navigate this issue.

The Class of 2020 and other sentimental ramblings

Today is a popcorn snickers sweet and salty day.  Choked all day long on an emotional swing of high time laughter, summers start and wonderful memories to cherish, to what would have been, successes and disappointments, humiliation, and the death my cell phone dreams to cherry the day on top.  In a sundae nutshell:  there [...]

What NOT to pack!

I don’t think she would really appreciate the trip the same way we would.

Let the games begin….

In three days at this time…. we will be at an international airport getting ready to board an airplane for 9.5 hours of over the ocean as ghastly heights.  I am SO excited because  God is good and this trip is a part of His goodness.  I will not fear being helplessly transported to the other [...]

Texas Blue bonnets

Than I was reading Rob Bell’s Velvet Elvis.  He says one of the goals of the Christian [...]

learning cliff

Why is it called a learning curve?
Why not call it a learning cliff.  You jump off, free fall like you don’t know what your doing, then maybe you fly into “get it” land where the light bulbs are stored.  Maybe you don’t.
Then it’s a learning splat?
My new mac is awesome and terrible.  I’m threatening to [...]

my heart hurts

My heart has hurt all day today.  I stop to cry.  I retreat alone.  I cry some more.  I sob.  Deep places in my heart hurt right now for people I know of, but don’t really know.
How do you walk into your home knowing there is one less person to kiss goodnight.
An empty bed [...]

An Interview With Me

First I should begin with I’m so  tired I just pulled out the keyboard to type. I couldn’t figure out why the pc keyboard wasn’t making the words appear on my mac laptop. duh.
SO on that note:  Here is a slice of my pie:
me:  If you could accomplish ONE thing this week… what would it [...]
